DURHAM, N.C. - The Duke rowing team will hold its annual Row For The Cure Ergathon on Thursday, Oct. 8, on the main quad of the West Campus of Duke University to raise money for Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
The fundraiser is an annual event - put on the members of the Duke rowing program - that collects donations from Duke students and members of the Durham community. Over the past two years, the fundraiser has brought nearly $20,000 for the cause.
In addition to seeking online donations, Duke Rowing will raise money at the fundraiser at the 12-hour "Ergathon" that will feature all members of the Duke program rowing on stationary rowing machines called ergs.
Duke will also compete at the Head of the Hooch (www.headofthehooch.org), which is a Row For The Cure sponsored event on Nov. 7-8 in Chattanooga, Tenn.
Each member of the team has committed to raising at least $250. To make a donation, simply visit the following website and click the name of the individual you would like to sponsor or select "General Team Donation" if you would like to support the team without identifying an individual:
