Dorian Cohen Takes Fifth at Temple Open

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Duke junior Dorian Cohen placed fifth in the men's foil competition at the 30th Annual Temple Open Fencing Tournament on Sunday, Nov. 1, in a field that featured 101 entries in McGonigle Hall on the campus of Temple University.
Cohen, a two-time NCAA qualifier and an All-America selection as a freshman, bested 96 other competitors at the event. Cohen has compiled an 81-25 record in his first two seasons at Duke while finishing sixth at the NCAA Championship as a freshman and winning the bronze medal at last year's Junior Olympics.
Freshman epee Jennifer Denike also participated in the women's epee competition and finished 36th out of 66 entries. A native of Berkeley Heights, N.J., Denike notched a top-32 finish at the Division II North American Cup as a high school senior while also leading her high school squad to the 2009 New Jersey State Championship.
