DURHAM, N.C. - Senior guard Jon Scheyer was named ACC Player of the Week for the third time this season in an announcement by the Atlantic Coast Conference on Monday.
Scheyer helped lead the Blue Devils to a 64-54 road win against rival North Carolina and a 77-56 victory at home over Maryland to remain in first place in the conference standings with a 9-2 ACC record. In the two wins, Scheyer averaged 23.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.0 steals per game while shooting .615 (8-of-13) from behind the three-point line.

Scheyer made 5-of-9 from behind the three-point line for his third game with five or more treys on the year. He also grabbed five rebounds, dished out four assists and had two steals in 40 minutes.
On Saturday, Scheyer recorded his ACC-leading 13th game with 20 or more points, scoring a team-high 22 in Duke's 21-point victory over Maryland. His 22 points came on 6-of-12 from the field, 3-of-4 from the three-point line and 7-of-8 from the foul line. Scheyer was a perfect 3-of-3 from beyond the arc in the first half on his way to 11 points. He went on to shoot 5-of-5 from the free throw line in the second half, making all four of his attempts in the final three minutes.
Scheyer is the only player in the ACC to earn three ACC Player of the Week awards. Maryland's Greivis Vasquez and Virginia's Sylven Landesberg have each earned two weekly honors.
