The Blue Devils (3-8, 0-5 ACC) will have nine wrestlers partaking in this year's conference tournament, including senior Konrad Dudziak, who will be defending his 2009 ACC title. The native of Bayonne, N.J., is 12-0 on the year and is coming off a 2-1 win over 12th-ranked Dustin Porter of Gardner-Webb.
Joining Dudziak will be seniors John Barone (197), Voris Tejada (174) and Ben Wales (165). Barone, a product of Shirley, N.Y., was 15-7 with a 2-3 mark in ACC bouts. Hailing from Marlton, N.J., Tejada tallied an 18-9 overall record with a 4-1 ledger in ACC competition. Wales, a senior from Ostego, Mich., missed part of the season due to injury, but finished with a 9-8 record.
Diego Bencomo led the team in wins with a 21-9 record. The redshirt-freshman from Phoenix, Ariz. will be wrestling at 184 pounds. Bencomo was 2-2 against the ACC this year.
Freshman Brent Jorge will be wrestling at 149 and freshman Christopher Piccolella will be competing at 157. Jorge is returning from injury, but had a solid rookie campaign, going 17-7 this season. Piccolella wrestled at several different weight classes this season and had a 2-3 record in the ACC.
Duke will not have an entry at 133 pounds.
