DURHAM, N.C. – Duke University will enshrine five new members into the school’s Athletics Hall of Fame on Friday, September 9. Slated for induction are Ben Bennett (football), Jenny Chuasiriporn (golf), Bobby Hurley (basketball), Mike Krzyzewski (coach) and Vanessa Webb (tennis).

Today’s video feature is on Vanessa Webb. A native of Toronto, Canada, Webb was a two-time ACC and ITA National Player of the Year honoree in women’s tennis in 1998 and 1999. A four-time All-America choice (1996-97-98-99), Webb helped the Blue Devils to four ACC regular season and tournament championships, four NCAA Tournament berths and an appearance in the 1998 national title match. As a junior, Webb won 44 singles matches, captured the NCAA individual singles crown with a straight set victory over Stanford’s Ania Bleszynski and received the ACC’s Garber Award as the conference’s top female athlete. The 1996 ACC and ITA National Rookie of the Year, Webb completed her career with an overall singles ledger of 161-25 (.866) and remains atop the school’s all-time singles victories chart.

Tickets to the Duke Athletics Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Cameron Indoor Stadium are available to the public online at www.GoDuke.com/tickets or by calling the Duke Athletics Ticket Office at 919-681-2583.
