Position Title: Equipment Assistant

Department: Athletics

Category: Full Time, Non-Exempt

Responsibilities:

This position will be assigned to Athletics Equipment. Incumbent will be assigned responsibilities designed to provide exposure to the functional activities of the department. Assist in the development, maintenance, and enforcement of the procedures pertaining to the overall operation and safeguarding of assets of the equipment room(s) with the athletics department. Supervise, coordinate, and participate in all activities related to the purchasing, storing, issuing, fitting and repairing of athletic equipment, clothing and uniforms. This individual will primarily be assigned to women's varsity sports.

Responsible for assisting in maintaining inventory for athletic equipment and apparel, must ensure that all athletic equipment which includes uniforms, helmets, decals, banners, logos, etc. comply with University, Conference, and NCAA regulations and directives. Work directly with the head equipment manager in coordinating teams’ equipment requests to ensure proper sizing and fitting of the athlete. Responsible for assisting in the oversight of the storage, preservation, shipping, and reconditioning of all equipment at the conclusion of each season. Coordinate the transportation of equipment, uniforms, and supplies to both home and away from home competitions and practices. Other duties as assigned.

A successful candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic, high level of integrity and honesty. Candidates must have the ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, must be attentive to detail and accurate in record keeping and possess an ability to work with a diverse constituency including students, parents, coaches, faculty, staff administrators and outside contacts.

Requirements:

Candidates must be proficient in using Microsoft programs (e.g., web design, excel, database and spreadsheets).

Work requires analytical, communication and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree program.
