DURHAM, N.C.-Fresh off of completing their rookie collegiate lacrosse campaigns, Duke's Kyle Keenan and Kyle Turri are gearing up for the 2012 FIL Under-19 World Championship in Turku, Finland beginning July 12. The under-19 squad will play in three exhibition games leading up to the world championship event.

The United States has won each of the past six U-19 FIL World Championship titles. The US is currently ranked first with Canada and the Iroquois rounding out the top three.

Keenan and Turri will begin preparations for the international event this weekend, June 16, against the Long Island All-Stars. The game is set to face off at 7 p.m., at For the Love of the Game Tournament
Mitchel Field Stadium. Tickets purchased prior to June 15 are $7 each, while admission at the door is $10.

The U-19 squad will take on the Eastern Pennsylvania All-Stars next on June 23 at 7 p.m., at Radnor High School. The exhibition tour wraps up at Mountain Lakes High School on July 1 against the New Jersey All-Stars at 3 p.m. Tickets for both of those exhibition are $8 each.

Keenan saw action in 15 games, including three starts, in his rookie season with the Blue Devils. The Smithtown, N.Y., native finished the year with four goals and two assists for six points. He netted his first collegiate goal in his first career game as Duke defeated Rutgers 16-8. He had a career-high two points with a goal and an assist in the win over Dartmouth.

Turri, a goalkeeper, saw time between the pipes in eight games for Duke. He started three contests and completed the year with a 10.49 goals against average and 20 saves. He earned his first career start and victory with seven saves against Penn. He added a victory over Jacksonville and a loss to eventual national runner-up Maryland to post a 2-1 record.  

Also joining Keenan and Turri will be Duke equipment manager Jay Bissette. Bissette serves as the equipment manager for the Duke men and women's soccer programs as well as the Duke men's lacrosse team.

The event runs from July 12-21 in Turku, Finland. The US squad is in the Blue Division with Canada, Iroquois Nationals, England and Australia. Round robin competition commences for the US on July 13 against Australia. For a complete schedule, click here.
