DURHAM, N.C.-Following a pair of strong performances in goal, Duke senior James Belshaw was named the ACC Men's Soccer Player of the Week. This is Belshaw's second career ACC Player of the Week honor and his first of the 2012 season.

Belshaw anchored the Duke defense in a pair of shutouts and iced the ACC victory over Clemson with a penalty kick goal. The Nottingham, England made seven saves overall in the two victories and pushed Duke's home win streak to three games.

In the first midweek game of the season, Belshaw helped anchor the Blue Devils' backline to its first shutout of the season with a 3-0 win over Georgia State. Belshaw made one save as Duke allowed the Panthers just one shot on goal.

Three days later in the ACC home opener for Duke, the senior captain was outstanding with six saves, including four in the second half, in a 2-0 victory over Clemson. Belshaw added a goal against the Tigers, converting a penalty kick in the second half.

Belshaw is 3-3-0 this season with a 0.84 goals against average and a .808 save percentage. He has one shutout to his name and has helped Duke to consecutive shutouts. He currently ranks third in the ACC in save percentage and fourth in the league in goals against average.

The Blue Devils return to action tonight, Sept. 18, in a non-conference battle with UNC Greensboro at 7 p.m.
