DURHAM, N.C. – As the preseason third-ranked Duke women’s basketball team prepares to open the season, the Blue Devils are excited to announce the first Joanne P. McCallie Radio Show will take place on Monday, Nov. 19 from 6:00-7:00 p.m., at NOSH.

In May, the Duke Athletic Department along with Blue Devil IMG Sports Marketing announced the Joanne P. McCallie Radio Show had signed a three-year deal with NOSH to be the host site beginning with the 2012-13 campaign.

“We are thrilled to have Nosh hosting the radio show and are very excited for the first show on Nov. 19,” commented McCallie.  “NOSH has a wonderful atmosphere, menu and location, which will be perfect for our six shows this season.  Wendy and her team do great work and our staff loves eating at NOSH.  We hope our Blue Devil fans will show up and pack NOSH for all six shows this year.”

The first of six shows for the 2012-13 season will be on Nov. 19 as Coach P will be joined by host Morgan Patrick and it will be aired live on WDNC AM 620.  NOSH is located at 2812 Erwin Road in Durham and can also be found at

“Nosh is incredibly excited to become the host location for the Joanne P. McCallie Radio Show,” said NOSH Owner Wendy Woods.  “We are excited that our loyal customers will be able to interact with Coach P, her staff and team.  We remain committed to the Durham Community and identify with the excellence in the Duke women’s basketball program.  I grew up cheering for the Blue Devils and we support all the Duke teams.  The Coach P Show is a great opportunity to showcase Nosh and we look forward to a great partnership.”

McCallie, who enters her sixth season at Duke, is a two-time Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Coach of the Year and 2005 National Coach of the Year.  Since arriving at Duke in 2007, she has guided the Blue Devils to a 141-33 overall record, five NCAA Tournament appearances, three ACC regular season titles and two ACC Tournament titles.

Coach P is the first Division I head coach to win a conference title in four different leagues -- ACC, Big Ten, America East and the North Atlantic.  She also became the first coach to be named conference coach of the year in four different leagues.  McCallie reached 100 victories at Duke in only 122 contests, which is the second-quickest to ever reach 100 wins at a school.

Duke is coming off a trip last season to the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight for the third straight year, while producing a 27-6 overall and 15-1 mark in Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) action. The Blue Devils won at least a share of the ACC regular season title for the third straight year and their first outright league crown since the 2006-07 campaign under the direction of McCallie.

The Joanne P. McCallie Radio Show is a production of the Blue Devil IMG Sports Network.

“Nosh has been a great sponsor of Duke Athletics and now hosting the Coach P Radio Show will elevate their presence with all Duke supporters,” commented Marc Tuttle, who is the General Manager of Blue Devil IMG Sports Marketing.”  We are excited about bringing the Coach P Radio Show to Nosh and expect great things to come from the partnership.”

Duke has been preseason ranked No. 3 nationally in the Associated Press and USA Today Division I Coaches polls.  The Blue Devils were also tabbed the preseason pick to win the ACC by a vote of the Blue Ribbon Poll, which was conducted at the ACC Media Day on Oct. 16.  Duke returns four starters from last year’s team, including 2011-12 All-America selections Chelsea Gray and Elizabeth Williams.

The Blue Devils will open the 2012-13 campaign on Saturday, Nov. 17 at 7:00 p.m., against Presbyterian; followed by hosting Iona on Sunday, Nov. 18 at 2:00 p.m.  All home games will be played in historic Cameron Indoor Stadium.  Tickets can be purchased by calling the Duke Ticket Office at (919) 681-2583 or 1-877-375-3853 or fans can also purchase tickets online at
