DURHAM, N.C. - GoDuke.com recently sat down with freshman Motin Yeung of the Duke men’s golf team to get to know the freshman and highlights from his golf career. The freshman owns two top-10 finishes this season, including a tie for third at the Heel Devil Individual.
GoDuke.com: What kind of clubs do you play?
Motin Yeung: I am currently using an
R-11S driver, a RocketBallz three-wood, a Nike VR hybrid, TaylorMade irons,
TaylorMade ATV wedges and I am currently using a Nike VR putter. I also use a
TaylorMade golf ball.
GoDuke.com: What kind of pre-round
superstitions do you have before tournaments?
MY: I just like to make sure that I am
warmed up.
GoDuke.com: Is there a shot that sticks out
in your mind that you have hit under pressure?
MY: I have hit some really good
knock-down shots under pressure, towards the end of tournaments.
GoDuke.com: How many hole-in-ones have you
hit?
MY: Three. The last hole-in-one I had
was this past April. During that round, I holed out for an eagle from 100 yards
out on a previous hole and I had a hole-in-one from 204 yards. The wind was
blowing from left to right, so I hit a knock-down four iron cut shot and it
took one hop and went into the hole.
GoDuke.com: What is your go to shot?
MY: A little knock-down, cut shot.
GoDuke.com: What is your favorite club?
MY: I would say either my three-wood or
hybrid.
