DURHAM, N.C.—Duke University senior Jake Tripucka was selected as the Ronald McDonald House Charities Student-Athlete of the Week following his seven-point performance in the men’s lacrosse 19-16 victory over Virginia this past weekend. The seven points were a career-high for the midfielder.

Trailing 14-12 heading into the fourth quarter, Tripucka tallied a goal and added three assists in the final session to lead Duke’s fourth-quarter comeback over the Cavaliers. He registered the quarter’s opening goal and added consecutive assists on the next two scores to put Duke in front for good at 15-14. The hat trick was the Boonton Township, N.J., native’s second of his career, while his four assists were also a career-high.

Tripucka has 13 goals and 19 assists for a career-best 32 point this season. He currently ranks tied for fifth in the ACC in assists per game and is fourth on the team in overall points.

The Blue Devils are 10-4 overall and travel to Rutgers Saturday, April 20 for a 7 p.m., faceoff.
