DURHAM, N.C. – During the Duke Nike Classic this weekend, the Blue Devils will be raising money to go towards the Ana Hunt Fund.  There will be a silent auction on both Friday and Sunday where fans can bid on a Duke women’s soccer autographed jersey and soccer ball.  Donations will also be accepted.  All money raised will go towards helping the Hunt family.

Duke junior Anastasia Hunt and her family lost their home in the tragic Moore, Okla., tornado on May 20, 2013.  Since then her family has started the rebuilding process to move on with their lives.  The Duke athletic department is helping the family by creating the Ana Hunt Fund to help collect money to assist in the rebuilding process.

From now through the end of the 2013 Duke women’s soccer season, Duke will be collecting money that will go to the Hunt family.  For those interested in donating, you can contact Fred Roland of the Iron Dukes at (919) 613-7478 or  Checks can be made out to Duke University and sent to Roland at 116 Cameron Indoor Stadium, Box 90542, Durham, N.C., 27708.

Hunt, a rising junior defender for the Blue Devils, has appeared in 11 career contests for Duke over the last two years.  She has helped the Blue Devils to an appearance in the 2011 NCAA College Cup and a trip to the NCAA Elite Eight a year ago.

The Blue Devils will host the Duke Nike Classic on Friday, Sept. 6 and Sunday, Sept. 8.  It will feature four teams ranked in the top 12 nationally – North Carolina (1), UCLA (2), West Virginia (9) and Duke (12).  Duke will open the classic on Friday hosting West Virginia at 6:00 p.m., followed by North Carolina and UCLA at 8 p.m.  On Sunday, the Tar Heels will take on West Virginia at 11 a.m. and the Blue Devils will host UCLA at 1 p.m.
