DURHAM, N.C. – The third-ranked Duke women’s golf team will compete in the 2013 Mason Rudolph Women’s Championship from Sept. 20-22 at the 6,337-yard, Par 72 Vanderbilt Legends Club North Course in Franklin, Tenn.
Duke is coming off finishing tied for fourth at the Dale McNamara Fall Preview in the season opener in which the Blue Devils held the outright lead through 36 holes of action. The Blue Devils will feature a little different lineup this weekend as standout freshman Yu Liu will see her first collegiate action, after missing the season opener due to playing in the China National Games.
There will be a solid field in Tennessee this weekend with Vanderbilt, Alabama, Arizona State, Auburn, Baylor, Duke, Kentucky, Michigan State, North Carolina, N.C. State, Princeton, Texas, UCLA, Virginia and Wake Forest.
The format for the Mason Rudolph Championship will be 18 holes each day with tee times starting at 9:00 a.m. (EST) on Friday and Saturday. Sunday’s final round will start at 8:30 a.m. (EST).
Duke owns two Mason Rudolph Championship team titles as the Blue Devils won back-to-back crowns in 2006 and 2005. Lindy Duncan (2011) and Amanda Blumenherst (2007, 2005) each have claimed individual titles over the years for Duke.
