As a sophomore, Swart was Duke's most dependable starter, leading the Blue Devils in ERA (2.75), innings pitched (85.0) and strikeouts (71) while starting the series opener in 12-of-13 weekend series. Swart combined on three shutouts, starting all three, and allowed more than three runs just three times on the year. He went at least five innings in 12 of his 13 starts and permitted just 12 extra base hits, all doubles.
Over two seasons in Durham, Swart has logged 158.2 innings of work, appearing in 27 games on the mound. He sports a 3.46 career ERA to go along with 147 strikeouts.
Swart and the Blue Devils begin the 2014 season Feb. 14-16 at Jack Coombs Field, hosting Binghamton in a three-game series.
