DURHAM, N.C. -- Duke Athletics currently ranks ninth in the latest Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Standings, released by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics today.
Duke has secured 293.00 total points and is among five ACC schools ranked in the top 10, joining Florida State (3rd), North Carolina (4th), Virginia (5th) and Notre Dame (8th). Stanford leads the overall rankings with 461.25 total points.
On the year, the Blue Devils have earned points in field hockey (90), football (52), women’s soccer (73), volleyball (50) and women’s cross country (28).
The first Division I winter standings will be released on Thursday, March 27.
The Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's national finish in up to 20 sports -- 10 women’s and 10 men’s.
