DURHAM, N.C. -- For the second time in two weeks, junior Ester Goldfeld received the ACC Female Tennis Player of the Week honor as a member of the Duke women’s tennis team. The Brooklyn, N.Y., native earned the weekly accolade following a strong showing at the Freeman Memorial Championship in Las Vegas, Nev., which ran from Jan. 17-19.

Goldfeld and the Blue Devils faced stout competition at the Freeman Memorial Championship, a tournament that boasted 12 of the top 50 individuals in the nation, ranked by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). Two of the top three doubles pairs also entered the competition.

Currently ranked 45th in the nation by the ITA, Goldfeld concluded competition at the tournament by posting a 3-1 mark in singles.  Goldfeld opened the weekend with a 6-0, 6-2, victory over UNLV’s Paola Artiga before falling to UCLA’s No. 1 Robin Anderson, 6-1, 6-2.
