DURHAM, N.C.—Just days away from closing out the regular season, the duo of Immanuel Kerr-Brown and Conner Hartmann have their eyes on the postseason as the NCAA released its first RPI rankings. Both Kerr-Brown and Hartmann landed among the 33 in their weight classes.
Wrestling at 157 pounds and sporting a team-best 21-9 record, Kerr-Brown landed No. 32 on the 33-man list. He is fourth among ACC wrestlers in that weight, including his upcoming opponent from NC State Thomas Gantt. The redshirt junior is ranked 20th in the latest Flo Rankings on flowrestling.com.
Hartmann, a 2013 NCAA qualifier at 197 pounds, is 28th in the RPI with an 18-8 overall record and 13-6 mark in duals. He recently climbed to 16th in the AWN Open Mat Individual rankings and is one of four ACC wrestlers listed in the RPI.
The Blue Devils will close out their regular season Saturday with the ACC finale against NC State at 10 a.m., and Big Ten foe Northwestern at 2 p.m.
The ACC Championships get underway March 8 in Blacksburg, Va. Both Kerr-Brown and Hartmann will be battling for seeding this weekend against the Wolfpack.
