DURHAM, N.C.— The Senior CLASS Award has released its 2013-14 All-America teams with Duke University’s Haley Peters earning second team accolades.  

A native of Red Bank, N.J., Peters averaged 11.2 points a tied for team-best 7.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.3 steals in 31 games for the Blue Devils.  She received All-ACC Tournament second team, Capital One Academic All-America and All-ACC Academic Team honors during the season.  The 6-3 standout closed her career with 826 rebounds over her four years, which ranks sixth all-time on the Duke charts.  She also tallied 1,367 points to stand 16th overall on the Blue Devil record books.

On the first team was Heather Butler (Tennessee-Martin), Hallie Christofferson (Iowa State), Stefanie Dolson (UConn), Jordan Hooper (Nebraska) and Chiney Ogwumike (Sanford).  Along with Peters on the second team were Jerica Coley (FIU), Natasha Howard (Florida State), Maggie Lucas (Penn State) and Odyssey Sims (Baylor).

An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School®, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.

As a team, Duke posted a 28-7 overall record and advanced to the NCAA Tournament second round before falling to seventh-seeded DePaul.
