DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke men’s tennis program concluded the 2013-14 campaign listed 14th in the final Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Div. I team rankings. The Blue Devils finished among the top 15 teams in the country for the fifth consecutive year.

The 2013-14 season saw head coach Ramsey Smith’s squad compile a 20-7 record, including a 10-1 mark in ACC play. The team took second in the conference regular season standings and ended the regular season on an eight-match win streak that included victories over No. 9 Notre Dame and No. 8 North Carolina. Duke was also ranked among the nation’s top 18 programs for the duration of the spring season.

The Blue Devils made their 23rd consecutive appearance in the NCAA Team Championship, serving as one of 16 host sites for first and second round play. Tabbed the tournament’s No. 11 seed, Duke reached the second round before falling to Tennessee.

Senior Fred Saba and junior Jason Tahir were selected to the 64-player field for the 2014 NCAA Singles Championship, where both advanced to the second round of play.

Saba garnered All-ACC recognition for the second-straight year and was joined on the all-conference first team by Tahir, while junior Raphael Hemmeler and sophomore Bruno Semenzato received third team All-ACC honors. Hemmeler was also named the ITA Carolina Region's recipient of the Arthur Ashe, Jr. Leadership and Sportsmanship Award.

Saba surpassed the 100-win milestone in singles during the season, becoming the 12th player in program history to achieve the feat. He concluded his collegiate career with a final record of 103-50 in singles and 89-52 in doubles and moved into first on the program's all-time list for career ACC singles wins with 35 for his career.
