DURHAM, N.C. -- The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released the final singles and doubles rankings of the 2013-14 season Wednesday with Duke represented by three singles players and four doubles teams on the national list.

After reaching the quarterfinal round of the 2014 NCAA Singles Championship, sophomore Beatrice Capra jumped two spots to No. 5 in the final ITA singles poll. Capra concluded the season with an overall ledger of 30-10. A two-time All-American, Capra has reached 30 or more singles wins in a season for the second time in her career.

Ranked 17th in the latest ITA poll, junior Ester Goldfeld saw one of her highest rankings of the season after posting a strong showing in the NCAA Singles Championship. Goldfeld reached the semifinal round of the tournament before falling to Virginia’s 14th-ranked Danielle Collins, who went on to claim the national title. The Brooklyn, N.Y., native concludes the season with a 36-10 overall record, making her the 21st singles player in Duke history to win at least 36 singles matches in a season.

Senior Hanna Mar, ranked 31st in the ITA poll, garnered ITA Carolina Region Senior Player of the Year honors earlier in the year. Mar rounded out her final season as a Blue Devil by reaching 100 singles wins after defeating Kyle McPhillips of UCLA in the quarterfinal round of the 2014 NCAA Team Championship. The three-time All-ACC honoree concludes her 2014 singles campaign with a 31-12 overall record and a 12-2 mark in ACC play.

In doubles, the tandem of Capra and Mar finishes the season ranked fourth in the ITA poll. Capra and Mar’s season came to a close after the pair suffered a defeat in the semifinal round of the 2014 NCAA Doubles Championship to Alabama’s Erin Routliffe and Maya Jansen. The Blue Devil duo led Duke in doubles wins with an overall record of 23-7, including a 12-5 ledger against nationally ranked opponents.

In addition to ranking among the nation’s top-20 singles players, Goldfeld also competed on three separate nationally ranked doubles teams.

The doubles team of freshman Alyssa Smith and Goldfeld ranked 46th on the ITA lists. As a pair, Smith and Goldfeld amassed an overall record of 11-7, playing all but one match at the No. 2 position for Duke this season.

Junior Annie Mulholland and Goldfeld appeared at No. 53 in the final rankings following a 9-3 season. Mulholland and Smith recorded an even 3-3 ledger against nationally ranked opponents and owned a three-match win streak prior to the end of the season.

The team of Goldfeld and senior Marianne Jodoin rounded out the Duke contingent on the ITA’s latest polls, ranking 76th. The team of Goldfeld and Jodoin won two of its three doubles matches, with its lone loss coming at the hands of the nationally ranked pair of Belinda Woolcock and Sofie Oyen of Florida.

In the Carolina Region Rankings, Duke earned the top-ranking of the ten schools while also placing five singles players in the top 20 and three doubles teams in the top 10.

Capra's No. 2 ranking highlighted the five Duke singles players appearing on the regional list, while No. 4 Goldfeld and No. 5 Mar also sat among the top five. Freshman Chalena Scholl, ranked 13th, and Smith, ranked 18th, rounded out the Blue Devils on the regional polls.

In doubles, Capra and Mar ranked ahead of all doubles teams other than Jamie Loeb and Hayley Carter of North Carolina, while the ITA ranked the doubles team of Goldfeld and Smith eighth and the tandem of Goldfeld and Mulholland ninth in the region.

Duke concluded the season ranked No. 2 as a team after reaching the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Team Championship.
