DURHAM, N.C. – Former Duke All-American Henrique Cunha claimed the second singles title of his professional career over the weekend, winning the main draw at the Thailand F6 Futures tournament in Bangkok.

After winning his first professional singles and doubles titles last summer, Cunha collected another singles championship June 7 at the Thailand F6 Futures tournament in Bangkok. The 2013 Duke graduate and all-time program singles and doubles wins leader topped Japan’s Toshihide Matsui 6-4, 7-6 (5) in the semifinals of the main draw before dispatching Phassawit Burapharitta of Thailand 6-0, 6-0 in the final. Cunha also had success at the Thailand F5 Futures tournament in Bangkok in late May, reaching the singles semifinals before falling to Christopher Rungkat of Indonesia in a three-set decision. In doubles, Cunha paired with former Southern California standout Daniel Nguyen to advance to the doubles final at the Korea F1 Futures in Seoul in late April.

Wietsoka continues to move up in the world rankings in both singles and doubles after competing in Futures tournaments in Greece and Israel this spring. The 2012 Duke graduate won the doubles title at the Greece F4 Futures in early April, teaming with Tom Kocevar-Desman of Slovenia to defeat the Czech Republic duo of Marek Jaloviec and Vaclav Safranek in the championship match, 7-6 (4), 6-4. The doubles title marked the fifth of Wietoska’s professional career, as he won four in 2013.
