AUSTIN, Texas -- For the second straight year, recent Duke graduate Juliet Bottorff was named to the Capital One Academic All-America® Division I Women’s Track and Field/Cross Country first team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Bottorff is joined by Frances Dowd of Virginia Tech in representing the ACC as a member of the Capital One Academic All-America® first team.

Bottorff, who earned a graduate degree in markets and management studies, excelled in the classroom while at Duke. In addition to receiving postgraduate scholarships from both the ACC and the NCAA in 2014, Bottorff was also named the ACC Women’s Indoor Track & Field Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Bottorff earned the same honor of scholar-athlete of the year following a stellar 2012 cross country season. Over her college career, Bottorff was twice named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team.

Bottorff is scheduled to compete at the United States Track and Field Championships in Sacramento, Calif., this evening at 11:20 p.m. (ET). The Newark, Del., native placed seventh in the 10,000 in a time of 33:33.77 at last year’s event. Live video of the contest is available here, beginning at 2 p.m. this afternoon.
