Hello again everyone!

It's been about a week since my last post so I thought I should keep you updated on what's gone on here in Vietnam in that time. In my last post I left off telling you about how we were going to a city called Hoi an.

So it turns out that the shopping was incredible and we were able to get some really good prices by bargaining with the shop owners. I have to admit I was terrible at it in the beginning, but soon got the hang of it and was able to get a ton of things to bring back for less than 30 U.S. dollars.

That is the one thing that is really great about Vietnam, is everything is so cheap that you can get one of everything if you want. It might be a little tough going back to the States though when I see the prices of food and clothes in stores. But we also went to this amazing beach last weekend that literally had no more than 10 people as far as the eye could see.

It's funny because in their culture, pale skin is seen as beautiful so they try to stay out of the sun as much as possible, which means no one goes to these beautiful white sand beaches from the time of 10am-4pm. So besides a few other foreigners, there was one nobody in site! We concluded the weekend with some coconut water that was only 50 cents USD and we were on our merry way into the second week of camp!

The second week brought with it a new found confidence that we had done with before and we're starting to get the hang of it. The kids started to open up more and more and really seem like they're having a lot of fun.

In physics, we covered sound barriers and reflection of sound among other things. It’s still sometimes tough with the translations, but everyone is just going with the flow and doing the best they can. In soccer, we practiced a lot of shooting from different angles and how to be a good goalie.

I have to say the kids could not have been more thrilled when we told them the lesson was on shooting. Even the girls got into the spirit and where going after the balls. Unfortunately it rained almost every day in the afternoon last week so we had to cut some of the sports short because it was just too muddy and slick.

But other than that all the kids improved on their test scores from last week and have been getting a lot better at the sports as well. It's been fun to watch them grow even if it's just been over two weeks. I feel like a proud parent already after week two. At this rate, by the end of week three, it'll be almost impossible to say bye. But I'm just going to try to and enjoy every second of it because before I know it I'll be on a plane back to the States! But that's all for now! I'll be sure to keep you updated on how the last week goes and hope the summer is treating all of you well!

As always... Go Duke!
