At Duke (2015-Present): CJ Hunter joined the Duke volleyball staff in August of 2015 and enters his third season with the program as the director of volleyball operations.
Hunter handles the daily office management as well as coordinating team travel, campus visits for recruits, team community service events and program budget management. In addition, he assists with the team’s marketing and promotions efforts as well as the squad’s social media accounts.
Previous Experience: As a Duke undergraduate from 2010-2013, Hunter served as the Blue Devils’ student manager and played for the men’s club volleyball team while pursuing his degree in political science. Following graduation in 2013, the Mount Airy, N.C., enrolled in the Sport Administration program at North Carolina, completing his master’s degree in exercise and sport science in the spring of 2015. At North Carolina, Hunter also worked in the Tar Heels’ Athletic Communications office, handling media relations and game day operations for the UNC volleyball team.
From 2008-13, Hunter coached the Surry Storm Volleyball Club in his hometown of Mount Airy, N.C., serving as both a head coach and assistant coach for ages 12-18. He is currently a coach with the Triangle Volleyball Club in Morrisville, N.C.
