Samantha Childress is stepping into her role as the video coordinator for the Duke women’s soccer program in 2016-17, where she will be responsible for filming training sessions and games, as well as breaking down game film for individual players throughout the season.
Childress is a recent graduate of Appalachian State University with a degree in Appropriate Technology. She is beginning graduate coursework at Duke University’s Nicholas School of the Environment towards her Master of Environmental Management (MEM).
At Appalachian State, Childress was a four-year starter on the women’s soccer team where she finished second in the university’s record book for both career goals (25) and season goals (10) during her career. Additional collegiate honors include All-Southern Conference Freshmen team, All-Southern Conference Second Team, and NSCAA Scholar All-South Third Team.
Since 2013, Childress has been an assistant coach for North Carolina’s Olympic Development Program (ODP) and has coached at a number of camps and clinics through both Appalachian State and Duke women’s soccer programs.
