Virada Nirapathpongporn, a native of Bangkok, Thailand, was the first four-time first team All-America honoree in Duke women’s golf history who helped the Blue Devils to four ACC crowns as well as the 2002 NCAA championship.  A four-time All-ACC and three-time All-American Scholar selection, she earned individual medalist honors at the 2001 ACC Championships and, in 2002, earned both ACC and National Player of the Year honors while claiming the individual title at the NCAA Championships.  On August 10, 2003, Nirapathpongporn became the first Duke player to capture the U.S. Women’s Amateur championship with a 2&1 victory over Jane Park at the Philadelphia Country Club.  In addition, she competed on the LPGA Tour from 2006-08 and captured two tournament victories on the Symetra Tour.
