Grant Hill, a native of Reston, Va., was a three-time All-America pick while helping the Blue Devils capture NCAA championships in both 1991 and 1992. A member of three conference regular season title teams, he was a three-time All-ACC, three-time All-ACC Tournament, two-time NCAA All-Final Four team choice. As a senior, Hill received ACC Player of the Year honors while guiding Duke to its third NCAA Final Four appearance in four seasons. In 129 career games, the 1993 National Defensive Player of the Year honoree averaged 14.9 points and 6.0 rebounds per outing and had his jersey No. 33 retired on February 27, 1994. The No. 3 overall selection in the 1994 NBA Draft by the Detroit Pistons, Hill played 18 professional seasons, was the co-recipient of the 1995 NBA Rookie of the Year award with Jason Kidd, earned All-NBA accolades following five seasons, was selected to seven NBA All-Star Games and three times was honored with the NBA Sportsmanship Award.
