DURHAM, N.C. – Duke’s high-scoring tandem of junior Lexie Brown and redshirt junior Rebecca Greenwell has been named to the Naismith Trophy Women’s 50 preseason watch list, as announced Wednesday by The Atlanta Tipoff Club.
Fifty players from 31 schools were selected to the initial watch list for the Naismith Trophy. The ACC led all conferences with 12 student-athletes. The mid-season list of 30 players will be announced Feb. 8, 2017.
Brown and Greenwell have teamed up to form the ACC’s top scoring duo with an average of 40.5 points per contest. That scoring average also places the tandem fourth in the country.

She paces the Blue Devils in steals, free throw attempts and free throws made after registering her first collegiate double-double Sunday at Pepperdine with 14 points and 12 assists.
With 972 career points, Brown sits only 28 points shy of reaching the 1,000 mark.

The Owensboro, Ky., native is averaging 22.0 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.8 steals per contest while leading Duke in scoring, field goals made, three-point field goals made, rebounds and minutes.
Greenwell connected on a school-record eight treys in Sunday’s victory at Pepperdine, finishing with a career-high 31 points.
