WACO, Texas - Duke assistant coach Jeffrey Faris has accepted an invitation to take part in the second annual American Football Coaches Foundation® (AFCA) 30 Under 30 Coaches’ Leadership Institute.
Coaching the Blue Devils’ wide receivers, Faris has helped the program to 21 victories the last three years and 31 during the previous four campaigns. He oversaw the development of fourth round NFL Draft pick Jamison Crowder, who tied the Duke record for career receptions with 283 and is second in Blue Devil history in career receiving yards with 3,641. During the last two years, Faris has guided T.J. Rahming to 113 receptions for 1,313 yards.
The AFCA and NCAA Leadership Development have partnered for this prestigious program, which is aimed at training premier, future leaders in the football coaching profession.
This year’s participants will meet at the 2017 AFCA Convention in Nashville, Tenn., for a full day of focused, interactive lectures on topics including ethics, leadership, NCAA rules, financial management, hiring and player safety. The AFCA aims to emphasize responsible influence, the importance of ethical behavior and the development of today’s student-athlete.
