DURHAM, N.C. – Head coach Megan Cooke Carcagno and the Duke rowing program are excited to announce the signing of Sydney Cikovic to a National Letter of Intent. Cikovic is a senior at The Lawrenceville School in Lawrenceville, N.J., where she is three-year member of the rowing program.
Cikovic, who owns the fastest 2K on the team for her three years as a varsity rower, received additional varsity letters in swimming and water polo. Cikovic was coached by Bernadette Teeley for Lawrenceville School's rowing program.
"Sydney is a talented athlete in three unique water sports," assistant coach and recruiting coordinator Chase Graham said. "You don't find her mix often. We are very excited she chose to specialize in rowing for her collegiate career here at Duke. She has a magnetic personality that will fit in perfectly within our program."
Away from rowing, Cikovic is a Stephens House historian, McPherson House social representative and a member of the orchestra.
"Besides the amazing team and welcoming atmosphere throughout the entire process, Duke provided me with a scenario that gave me the best of both worlds," Cikovic said. "Duke is somewhere I can get top-notch academics and athletics. That makes it the perfect fit for me."
