DURHAM, N.C.—The Duke men’s soccer spring slate gets underway in just over a week when the Blue Devils host the Pittsburgh Riverhounds of the United Soccer League Feb. 19. The match against the professional USL team kicks off a seven spring contests for the Blue Devils.
Duke, in the midst of its spring training schedule, opens its game schedule Feb. 19 with the Riverhounds at 11 am. The game, weather permitting, will be played at the 751 Soccer Field. The Blue Devils will play three home games this spring, concluding with Guelph University out of Canada April 26 at 9 a.m.
The Blue Devils return 24 players and 10 starters from the 2016 squad. The lone starter lost to graduation was goalkeeper Robert Moewes, who was drafted by MLS’s Toronto FC. Junior Brian White continues offseason training after a career-best year at striker, while rookie starters Max Moser, Suniel Veerakone, CC Uche and Brandon Williamson aim to continue to build on their game.
All home games are open to the public with parking available in the lot nearest the Al Buehler Trail along Highway 751. There are no grandstands so it is advised to bring your own chairs is advised.
