DURHAM, N.C. – The 2016-17 American Family Insurance ALL-USA Girls Soccer Teams have been released with Duke incoming freshmen Taylor Mitchell and Karlie Paschall each earning accolades. Mitchell received first team honors, while Paschall was named to the second team.
Mitchell, a defender/midfielder out of Sierra Canyon School, helped head her Trailblazers squad to a 22-2-2 record, while winning both the California Southern Section Division 4 title as well as the Southern California Division IV Regional crown. A 5-8 native of Tarzana, Calif., Mitchell collected 19 goals and 14 assists as a senior. She spearheaded a defense that allowed just 10 goals on the year. Mitchell accumulated 157 points over her four years at Sierra Canyon School.
A 5-5 native of Brentwood, Tenn., Paschall is coming off a senior campaign where she notched 18 goals and 13 assists for Ravenwood H.S. She guided her squad to a 9-3-2 mark, despite missing a pair of matches because she was training with the U.S. Under-18 National Team. Paschall was recently named the Gatorade Tennessee Player of the Year and was the MVP of the High School All-American Game in North Carolina in December.
They are a part of the No. 5 ranked recruiting class in the nation that will be rookies with the Blue Devils in 2017.
