DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke men’s tennis team and head coach Ramsey Smith announced the squad’s 2017-18 schedule Monday. The spring slate is highlighted by 11 home dates, a season-opening trip to Scottsdale, Ariz., in January and the ACC Tournament in Cary, N.C., during late April. The Blue Devils’ fall competition kicks off September 15-17 with the Duke James Bonk Invite.

Following the Duke James Bonk Invite in Cary, the Blue Devils have two weeks off before ITA All-American action begins in Tulsa, Okla., with the prequalifying and qualifying rounds from September 30-October 3. The ITA All-American main draw runs from October 5-8.

The squad then returns home for the ITA Carolina Regional Championships in Cary from October 13-17. The Blue Devils remain in North Carolina for the 49ers Fall Invitational in Charlotte from October 27-29. The team rounds out the fall campaign with the Wake Forest Fall Invitational in Winston-Salem, N.C., from November 3-5. Should a Blue Devil advance to the ITA National Fall Championships, he would be in Indian Wells, Calif., from November 1-5 for the event.

A trip to Scottsdale, Ariz., opens spring competition against Arizona State on January 13. The Sun Devils are restarting their program in 2017-18 after halting the program following the 2008 campaign. Duke eliminated Arizona State from the 2008 NCAA Team Championship and a rematch will serve as the first match for the Sun Devils in 2018.

Duke has a weekend off following its opening match before traveling to Fort Worth, Texas, for the ITA Kick-Off Weekend January 27-28.

The Blue Devils open February with their first home weekend, hosting Illinois (February 2) and Northwestern (February 4). Duke then heads to Tennessee for a February 9 match and returns home February 11 for a doubleheader against Kentucky and N.C. Central.

ITA National Indoors take place in Seattle this year from February 16-18. Duke continues nonconference home action February 24 with another doubleheader, hosting Coastal Carolina and Furman. The Blue Devils open March with a home match against Michigan on March 1.

ACC play kicks off with a March 4 home competition against Virginia Tech. A week later, the Blue Devils host rival North Carolina on March 10.

Spring break week offers a trip to Florida, where Duke will face TCU on March 13 before returning to North Carolina to take on N.C. State (March 16) in Raleigh and Wake Forest (March 18) in Winston-Salem.

Duke completes March with a trip to Boston College March 25 and a home match versus Virginia on March 30.

Continuing ACC play, the Blue Devils travel to Notre Dame on April 6. Duke has three-straight home league contests in the middle of April with Louisville (April 8), Clemson (April 13) and Georgia Tech (April 15). The team’s final two matches of the regular season will be April 20 at Miami and April 22 at Florida State.

The ACC Championship will take place at the Cary Tennis Park in Cary from April 25-29.

The 2017 NCAA Championships will begin with regional action May 12-13. Wake Forest will serve as the host site for the Round of 16 through the title match, which is scheduled for May 22. Winston-Salem is also the site for the NCAA Individual Championships, which run from May 23-28.
