DURHAM, N.C. - For the second-straight game, junior Chelsea Burns accounted for the game-winning goal with a penalty kick as the Duke Blue Devils (2-1-0) shut down Bucknell (0-3-0) 2-0 Friday afternoon at Koskinen Stadium.

Goalkeepers EJ Proctor and Brooke Heinsohn each played a half to turn in the Blue Devils' first shutout of the campaign.

The Blue Devils put the pressure on the Bison from the start of the match, finishing the first half with a 15-2 shot advantage. Just as Bucknell looked poised to go into the half without any damage, Burns broke a scoreless tie with just 45 seconds left in the opening half. She was taken down in the box and received a penalty kick she converted into the game's first goal.

With her second score of the year, Burns has now tied her career high for goals in a season, set in 2015 during her freshman campaign.

Duke kept the pressure on early in the second half and extended the advantage to 2-0 as senior Imani Dorsey scored in the 52nd minute for her second goal in as many matches. Dorsey used assists from juniors Kayla McCoy and Taylor Racioppi to make it a two-goal lead.

Defense dominated for the Blue Devils Friday as the unit surrendered just three shots, two in the first half and one in the second. Duke also held an 11-0 advantage in corner kicks during the contest.

Duke returns to action Sunday with its first true road game of the year, facing Old Dominion in Norfolk, Va. The match is set to begin at 4:30 p.m. ET.
