CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Duke men’s tennis team turned in a strong opening day of doubles at the Charlotte 49ers Fall Invitational, going 2-0. The Blue Devils posted a 1-2 mark in singles.
Highlighting the action was freshman Sean Sculley, who went 1-0 in singles and 2-0 in doubles competition. Junior Ryan Dickerson, playing only singles, lost his contest. Classmate Jason Lapidus paired with Sculley in doubles and dropped his lone singles match.
The Blue Devils return to action at 9 a.m. Saturday with the doubles championship and two rounds of singles.
