CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Duke men’s tennis team added another fall championship Saturday with freshman Sean Sculley and junior Jason Lapidus capturing the A1 draw at the Charlotte 49ers Fall Invitational. The draw title is the first for Sculley and the third for Lapidus this fall.
Sculley and Lapidus topped Charlotte’s Ben Wayand and Sam Rice 6-4 to claim the championship. In singles, Sculley picked up two wins and advanced to the A2 flight championship on Sunday. Junior Ryan Dickerson, playing only singles, picked up two wins in the consolation bracket to move to the A1 draw's consolation championship.
The Blue Devils return to action at 9 a.m. Sunday with the final round of singles.
