CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Duke rowing team sent two walk-on freshmen boats Saturday to Chattanooga, Tenn., for the Head of the Hooch.

Coxswain Leeloo Gilet, Bailey Knight, Sarah Hubner, Olivia Vogel, Margot Calmar, Savannah Herbek, Caroline Olsen, Sandy Lynn and Sydney Aquilina took the course first for the Blue Devils in the Novice 8+ and notched sixth place in a time of 18:11.65. Duke clocked in just behind ACC foes Clemson, Louisville and North Carolina, as well as Alabama.

The Champ 4+ rounded out the day for the Blue Devils in 23rd, clocking in at 19:24.26.

Duke will travel to Charlottesville, Va., Sunday, Nov. 12, for the Rivanna Romp to close out the fall slate.
