DURHAM, N.C. – Duke and Cornell take the diamond for the first time since 1969 as the Blue Devils host the Big Red Friday-Sunday, March 204 at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Duke and Cornell face off in the series opener at 4 p.m., Friday, March 2, resume the series at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, March 3, and conclude the weekend at 1 p.m., Sunday March 4.
Duke (6-2, 0-0 ACC) enters the weekend on a five-game win streak, picking up two midweek victories over North Carolina Central and sweeping Bucknell in a three-game set. Cornell (0-3, 0-0 Ivy) dropped a three-game series at Texas A&M to start its season.
Duke owns an 8-4-1 all-time record against Cornell. The two teams first met in 1900 and faced off six times from 1900-08. The Blue Devils and the Big Red met six times from 1930-48 before taking the field for a single game in 1969.
Single-game tickets for this weekend’s game are $8.00 for adults, $6.00 for youth (ages 3-17) and seniors (65+), and free for children under two. Free parking is available on the streets adjacent to the DBAP. Free parking may also be available in the nearby parking decks, however, parking availability is contingent about the day of the week and other concurrent events in downtown Durham.
