With the Duke Loss

  • Dropped to 22-8 overall on the season
  • Will next await the NCAA Tournament selection show Monday, March 12 at 7 p.m.
  • Failed to win a game in the ACC Tournament for only the second time over the last 24 years with both losses coming against NC State (2012).
  • Is now 47-33 in ACC Tournament play
  • Coach P moved to 19-8 in ACC Tournament play and 42-17 in conference tournament play as a head coach.
  • Is now 43-36 in the all-time series against NC State and 4-7 in ACC Tournament action
  • Moved to 4-5 against No. 5 seeds in the ACC Tournament


Fifth-Year Senior Lexie Brown

  • Finished with a team-high 16 points, three rebounds and three assists
  • Left game with 3:29 left in third quarter with an apparent right leg injury (Duke trailed 34-29). Returned to the game after a quad contusion late in the third quarter.
  • With her two three-point field goals made, moved into tied place on Duke’s single season charts with 66
  • Went over the 600-point mark and now owns 604 for the season, which ranks eighth on Duke’s single season charts
  • Now owns 237 steals/assists combined the season to rank fourth on Duke’s season list
  • Hit a three-pointer in her 29th straight contest, which continues to lead the ACC and ranks second nationally. The 29 straight games is a new school record.
  • With her one steal, moved into a tie for second place on the Duke single-season steals list with 106
  • Took her seventh charge of the season and 12th of her career


Fifth-Year Senior Rebecca Greenwell

  • Had 13 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals
  • Hit 2-of-10 three-pointers
  • With her two three-point field goals made, moved into tied place on Duke’s single season charts with 66
  • Snapped a streak of eight straight games with at least 8 rebounds as she finished with five
  • Started her 120th career contest, which is now tied fifth all-time at Duke along with Mistie Bass and Jasmine Thomas.


Senior Erin Mathias

  • Tied a career high with six free throws made
  • Totaled 10 points, five rebounds and two blocks
  • Had scored three points in seven career ACC Tournament games prior to today
  • Totaled double-digit scoring in the ACC Tournament for the first time in her career. Marked the 13th time this season and 16th time in her overall career with double-figure scoring.


Other Duke Notes

  • Hit a season-low 27.5 percent from the field
  • Held to 22.2 percent from downtown (4-of-18)
  • Outscored 26-12 in the paint
  • Had 19 turnovers and the Wolfpack scored 25 points off those turnovers
  • Outrebounded 47-37 for the game and allowed 22 rebounds by Chelsea Nelson
  • Scored a season-low 45 points
  • The 45 points were the tied for second-fewest Duke has scored in school history in the ACC Tournament
  • Forced its 20th shot clock violation of the season
  • Hit only 1-of-14 field goals for a 7.1 percentage in the second quarter and scored only four points
  • Trailed, 31-18, at the half, which was the largest margin of deficit at the half this season
  • At the half, hit only 19.2 percent from the field
  • Had 12 first half turnovers that led to 14 NC State points
  • At the half, NC State held a 16-0 advantage in points in the paint
