DURHAM, N.C. – Rising Duke rowing senior Isabel Ruby-Hill has been selected a member of the U23 women’s eight team, which will represent Canada at the World Rowing Under 23 Championships, as announced by Rowing Canada Aviron (RCA) Friday.
Athletes were selected based on performances at the 2018 Speed Orders – National Team Trials event in June in London, Ontario.
Ruby-Hill, a product of Toronto, Ontario, earns a spot on the Canadian U23 team after being named to the 2018 Division I All-Conference Team by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association earlier in June.
Ruby-Hill helped guide the Blue Devils to a third-place finish at the ACC Championship where No. 18 Duke advanced a program-best five boats to the Grand Final. As a member of the V8 for the entire spring campaign, Ruby-Hill captured the Carolina Cup crown for the second-consecutive year, placed seventh as an unranked team at the highly competitive Clemson Invitational, besting then No. 18 Syracuse and No. 20 Oklahoma and defeated then No. 15 Michigan State in four out of five boats in double dual action in Columbus, Ohio.
Ruby-Hill will return to the water to represent Canada July 25-29 in Poznan, Poland, at the World Rowing Under 23 Championships.
