PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – Duke women’s tennis senior Kaitlyn McCarthy opened play today at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-American in Pacific Palisades, Calif.

McCarthy, ranked No. 84 by the ITA preseason rankings, kicked off competition in the pre-qualifying singles draw and fell to LSU’s Keenan Johnson (6-3, 1-6, 0-6) before going on to defeat Wake Forest’s Chandler Carter (3-6, 6-3, 6-1).

Action at the ITA All-American will continue Tuesday.
