GREENVILLE, N.C. – Blue Devil divers swept all four springboard events Saturday in a strong showing against East Carolina and the Richmond women in a diving-only competition at the Pirates’ Minges Natatorium.

Four different Blue Devils earned first-place finishes on the day, with the men sweeping the top three spots in both springboard events and the women the top four spots.

Senior Mackenzie Willborn took the top spot in the women’s three-meter competition with an award of 325.40, followed by sophomore Ellie Winslow, who turned in a career-best score of 300.20. Junior Jaina Gaudette and freshman Maddi Pullinger also surpassed the NCAA Zone Diving qualification standard in third and fourth, respectively. Pullinger went on to win the women’s one-meter event, recording the second-best score in program history at 326.70. Senior Lizzie Fitzpatrick was second and Willborn third as Duke placed divers in each of the top six spots.

The Blue Devil men were equally as successful against East Carolina, with senior Evan Moretti surpassing the 400-point mark in a first-place finish on the three-meter board. He garnered an award of 402.80 from the judges for the fourth-best score in school history. Junior Nathaniel Hernandez followed in second and freshman Harel Anolick in third. The men’s one-meter competition saw Hernandez take the top spot with a career-best score of 382.70, propelling him up to second on the Blue Devils’ all-time performance list. Moretti came in second and Anolick third.

Up next, Duke will send swimmers and divers to the Big Al Invite Nov. 9-10 in Princeton, N.J., and to the inaugural ACC/Big Ten Challenge Nov. 10-11 in West Lafayette, Ind.
