DURHAM, N.C.—The quartet of Finesilver brothers have landed in the first edition of the NCAA Coaches Rankings, earning a spot in the top 30 of the respective weight classes. Mitch Finesilver leads the way at No. 6 in the 149-pound division.

Sophomore Matt Finesilver is 16th at 174 pounds, one spot higher than his No. 17 InterMat ranking. Zach Finesilver is 25th among 165-pounders and Josh Finesilver rounds out the group at No. 30 at 141 pounds.

Mitch comes in at No. 6 in the InterMat poll with a 20-3 overall record and an 8-3 mark against top 20 opponents. He is set to face his 12th top 20 foe Friday night against NC State’s Justin Oliver. A three-time NCAA qualifier, Mitch is second among ACC wrestlers at 149 pounds with North Carolina’s Austin O’Connor coming in at No. 4.

At 174 pounds, Matt is one of four ACC wrestlers among the top 30 and ranked second in the group. He is 17-5 overall on the year and 1-4 against top 20 foes. With an upset victory in 2018 under his belt, he is set up for a rematch with the Wolfpack’s 21st-ranked Daniel Bullard Friday night.

Zach, after missing the first portion of the season recovering from an offseason injury, has performed well with a 12-4 overall record. He took fifth at the Southern Scuffle and won the Cleveland State Open in his first tournament back from injury. He will wrestle No. 16 Thomas Bullard Friday night in search of his first top 20 victory.

Wrestling up a weight from last season, Josh is 15-7 overall and 3-1 in duals. Six ACC wrestlers are among the top 30 and Josh will see No. 26 Jamel Morris of NC State Friday night and No. 13 Sa’Derian Perry from Old Dominion Sunday. Both matches will be crucial as he tries to climb up the rankings.

The Blue Devils, 2-2, open ACC wrestling action at No. 8 NC State Friday night. They travel to Norfolk, Va., Sunday for a bout versus Old Dominion. The duals begin at 7 p.m., and 1 p.m., respectively.
