DURHAM, N.C. – Due to rain in the Durham area, the remainder of the opening day of the 2019 Duke Invitational has been suspended.
Duke, who was scheduled to take on Charleston Southern and Mississippi State Friday to open the weekend, will begin their slate on Saturday against MSU. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET. The Blue Devils will face Kansas immediately after, with a first pitch time of 4 p.m. The remainder of Duke’s games this weekend will play on Sunday, as they take on Ohio (8 a.m.) and Charleston Southern (10:30 a.m.). Friday’s game between Duke and Mississippi State, originally scheduled for 7 p.m., will not be replayed.
The day’s first game ended with an 8-5 victory for Ohio against Charleston Southern. Friday’s second contest between Mississippi State and Ohio entered a rain delay in the bottom of the fifth with MSU leading 3-2. That game is scheduled to be continued at 6 p.m. ET on Saturday.
