With the Duke Victory

  • Won its fourth straight contest
  • Improved to 15-14 overall and will next face No. 6 seed Florida State at 8 p.m., in the ACC Tournament second round
  • Is now 11-0 all-time in the series against Pitt and was the first meeting in the ACC Tournament
  • Coach P improved to 11-0 in her career versus Pitt
  • Won a game in the ACC Tournament for the 23rd time out of the last 25 years


Redshirt Junior Haley Gorecki

  • Hit her opening shot of the game, a three-pointer, and went on to hit 7-of-15 field goals in her first ACC Tournament appearance
  • Had 18 points, seven rebounds, six assists, two steals and one block


Junior Leaonna Odom

  • Dished a game-high eight assists, while scoring eight points
  • Attempted only 3-of-6 field goals


Sophomore Jade Williams

  • Had eight points and seven rebounds in 23 minutes


Freshman Onome Akinbode-James

  • Swatted five shots in 24 minutes


Freshman Miela Goodchild

  • Set the Duke freshman record for three-pointers made in a season with 73 and moved into a tie for fourth on the Blue Devil overall list
  • Is now tied seventh on the ACC single season three-pointers made list for freshmen with 73
  • Had a game-high 19 points in her first ACC Tournament contest
  • Hit 5-of-8 three-pointers


Senior Faith Suggs

  • Scored a career-high 16 points and added a season-high seven rebounds in 27 minutes
  • Hit her fifth three-pointer of the season in the first quarter and matched a career high with two for the night
  • Took her team-leading 12th charge of the season
  • Hit 7-of-11 field goals


Sophomore Jayda Adams

  • Had a career-high 15 points
  • Was perfect from the field hitting 4-of-4 field goals, 3-of-3 from downtown and 2-of-2 from the free throw line


Other Duke Notes

  • Hit a season-high 12-of-20 three-pointers
  • Tied a season high with 20 assists
  • Swatted eight shots, which was one shy of a season high
  • Outrebounded Pitt, 37-27
  • Scored 86 points, which was the most since Jan. 31 at Boston College (90) and snapped a six-game streak of scoring below 70 points
  • Hit a season-high 55.2 percent from the field
  • Outscored Pitt, 34-18, in the paint
  • Scored a season-high 50 points in the second half
  • Will next face No. 6 seed Florida State in the second round of the ACC Tournament Thursday, March 7 at 8 p.m.
