At Duke (2019-Present): Ryan Leary joined the Duke volleyball staff in February of 2019 and enters his first season with the program as the director of volleyball operations.
Leary handles the daily office management as well as coordinating team travel, campus visits for recruits, team community service events and program budget management. In addition, he assists with the team’s marketing and promotions efforts as well as the squad’s social media accounts.
Previous Experience: As an undergraduate student at Kansas, Leary served as the head student manager for the Jayhawks’ volleyball team for three seasons while pursuing his degree in sport management with a minor in business. Following his first three seasons with Kansas, Leary transitioned into the role as a student intern director of operations, which he served for one season. During his time with the Jayhawks, Kansas earned its first ever Sweet 16 appearance in 2013, and captured a Final Four berth in 2015.
Most recently, Leary served as a graduate assistant at VCU for the volleyball program. During his time at VCU, Leary was enrolled in the sport leadership graduate program, and was a part of back-to-back Atlantic 10 regular season championships for the Rams.
Leary is a native of Lawrence, Kan., and currently resides in Durham, N.C.
