GREENSBORO, N.C.  –  The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) released its 12-member All-ACC Women’s Golf team on Monday with Jennie Lee and Amanda Blumenherst earning All-ACC accolades, while Blumenherst was named Co-ACC Player of the Year by a vote of  the league’s head coaches.

It marks the 10th straight year the Blue Devils have registered two or more golfers on the All-ACC team.

Other members earning All-ACC honors were Caroline Westrup (FSU), Jessica Hollandsworth (Maryland), Catherine O’Donnell (UNC), Allie White (UNC), Lauren Doughtie (N.C. State), Calle Nielson (Virginia), Jennie Arseneault (Virginia), Whitney Neuhauser (Virginia), Nanette Hill (Wake Forest) and Natalie Sheary (Wake Forest). O’Donnell also was named ACC Freshman of the Year, Wake Forest’s Dianne Dailey was selected ACC Coach of the Year and Sheary earned Co-ACC Player of the Year with Blumenherst.

With her fourth straight ACC Player of the Year selection, Blumenherst became the first four-time winner in ACC history.  Blumenherst, who is a senior native of Scottsdale, Ariz., also earned All-ACC honors for the fourth straight year after notching a 72.86 stroke average to go along with one victory and a tied for first place finish at the ACC Championship.

Currently the 13th-ranked golfer in the Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index, Blumenherst owns 35 career top 10 finishes, which is Duke’s all-time record.  She owns 12 career wins, which is tied for Duke’s all-time record along with Mary Ann Widman.  Blumenherst also owns the Blue Devil record for most even or under par rounds (76).  She is the reigning three-time National Player of the Year.

Blumenherst is in the company of six other Blue Devils who have garnered ACC Player of the Year honors— Bauer (1999-tie, 2000), Chuasiriporn (1997, ‘98, ‘99-tie), Candy Hannemann (2001), Liz Janangelo (2004), Virada Nirapathpongporn (2002), Brittany Lang (2005) and Blumenherst (2006, 2007, 2008).

Another four-time All-ACC selection, Lee is currently ranked No. 11 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index.  Lee, who is a senior from Henderson, Nev., has notched a career-best 72.89 stroke average on the year, while notching a team-best four top-five finishes and five top-10 placements.  She has appeared in nine tournaments and counted all 24 rounds on the year.

Over her career, Lee ranks tied for 18th with 15 career top 10 finishes and is sixth with 40 rounds of even or under par.

With Lee and Blumenherst earning four All-ACC selections over their career, they join the likes of Chuasiriporn, Anna Grzebien, Hannemann, Leigh Anne Hardin, Nirapathpongporn, Jennifer Pandolfi and Janangelo as the only four-time All-ACC selections in Blue Devil history.  Only two other ACC golfers have been four-time All-ACC selections -- Caroline Westrup (FSU) and Stephanie Neill (WF).

Duke will next compete in the NCAA East Regional from May 7-9 at the Mark Bostick Golf Course at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Fla.  The Blue Devils are under the direction of Head Coach Dan Brooks, who has led Duke to an NCAA-best 108 career wins over his 25 years.
