DURHAM, N.C. - Duke plays the third of four consecutive home games by entertaining Vanderbilt for the 2006 edition of Parents’ Day this Saturday at Wallace Wade Stadium ... Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ... The Blue Devils stand at 0-7 overall and 0-5 in ACC play following their 20-15 loss to Miami while the Commodores are 3-5 overall and 1-4 in the SEC after dropping a 31-13 decision to South Carolina ... After hosting Vanderbilt, Duke will play home to Navy (Nov. 4) ... The Commodores will host Florida next weekend.

The Duke-Vanderbilt Series
Duke and Vanderbilt have met nine times on the gridiron, with the Commodores holding a 6-3 all-time series advantage ... After winning three of the first four meetings, Duke has dropped each of the last five in the series, including a 42-28 decision in Durham during the 2001 season ... The two squads have split the four meetings in Durham overall.

Duke Vs. The SEC
The Blue Devils are 52-47-5 all-time against current members of the Southeastern Conference ... Duke holds ledgers against Alabama (1-2), Arkansas (1-0), Auburn (3-3), Florida (2-3), Georgia (0-1), Kentucky (4-0), LSU (1-1), South Carolina (24-17-3), Tennessee (13-14-2) and Vanderbilt (3-6).

Roof Vs. Vanderbilt
Duke head coach Ted Roof has faced the Commodores four times in his coaching career with three victories ... While a graduate assistant at Alabama, Roof helped the Crimson Tide to wins over Vanderbilt in 1987 (30-23) and 1988 (44-10) ... In 1991 and 1992, Roof was on the staff at Duke and split a pair of games with Vanderbilt — Duke earned a 17-13 triumph in 1991 and the Commodores posted a 42-37 victory the following season.

Talley & The Record Books
Last Saturday against Miami, senior cornerback John Talley continued to secure his spot among the top defensive backs in Duke and ACC history ... Versus the Hurricanes, Talley registered one interception, pushing his career total to 16 to move into a tie for first on the Duke all-time chart and into a tie for seventh on the ACC’s career listing ... The Duncan, S.C., native also increased his career interception return yardage total to 375 — tops in ACC history ... In addition, his three returns for touchdowns stand one shy of the conference mark held by Virginia’s Randy Neal (Four; 1991-94).
