Career Notes

  • Joined the team as a walk-on in October of 2006 ... earned a scholarship in 2008
  • An active player with the ability to push his teammates every day in practice ... has a nice outside shooting touch as well as the strength to defend in the paint
  • Has a team-best 35.5 inch vertical ... also benched 185-pounds 21 times, second on the team
  • A versatile athlete, who also competed on the Duke track and field team as a freshman
  • Finished 10th at the 2007 Carolina Fast Times meet with a high jump of 6-7.5
  • Active in Duke’s award-winning Verizon Read with the Blue Devils, a community outreach reading program in the Durham school district


2008-09

  • Made his first career field goal for two points against Virginia (2/1) on his 21st birthday
  • Played five minutes with his first career rebound against Georgia Southern (11/11) in the second round of the 2K Sports Classic benefiting Coaches vs. Cancer


2007-08

  • Did not see game action, earned a letter and redshirted


2006-07

  • Saw action in three games
  • Played one minute against North Carolina (3/4)
  • Saw two minutes of action against N.C. State (1/20)
  • Had one block in two minutes against Davidson (11/25) in his collegiate debut


High School 

  • Earned four letters in basketball and three in track and field at Cheyenne Mountain High School
  • Second team all-state selection and league MVP after averaging 19.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per game as a senior
  • Scored 14 points and grabbed 8.0 rebounds per game while earning honorable mention all-state honors as a junior
  • Two-time all-league pick in track and field
  • Posted three top-five finishes in the high jump at the state meet, including a first-place jump as a senior
