
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- Junior Austin Cody posted an even-par 71 Sunday in the opening round of the Bash at the Beach. The North Charleston, S.C., native is tied for 12th overall after 18 holes of play at the Surf Golf and Beach Club.
McKay Tye (High Point) holds the tournament lead after firing a six-under 65 with Rich Leeper (James Madison) two shots back. Kyle Fouts (Northeastern State) and Callum Tarren (Raford) are tied for third at three-under.
Radford holds the team lead with a three-under 281 with Jacksonville two shots back. Duke is not in the team competition with Cody joined in the individual field by Turner Southey-Gordon and Motin Yeung.
Southey-Gordon and Yeung are tied for 26th after shooting three-over 74s to open the tournament.
